URGENT: Request to Conserve Water Effective Immediately

The Town of Marystown is urging residents and businesses the extreme importance to conserve water effective immediately. Due to the hot weather and lack of rain, the water level at Clam Pond has dropped substantially and is continuing to drop. Without the cooperation of all residents and businesses, the Town may be forced to implement further restrictions to ensure water levels do not drop dangerously low. This is very critical with regards to fire suppression that may be needed in our area.

Excessive water usage has placed a high demand on the Town’s water supply. The Town is asking residents to discontinue the use of water for the purpose of watering lawns and plants, washing cars and similar activities. Residents and businesses are also asked to conserve water during regular daily hours. This restriction will remain in effect until further notice.

The splash pad has been shut down until further notice.

The Town and the Marystown Volunteer Fire Department cannot stress how important it is to conserve water and adhere to to the fire ban. Everyone needs to do their part.

The Town of Marystown would like to thank everyone for their cooperation in this matter.
