It has come to the Town’s attention that some mortgage lenders may no longer collect municipal taxes, along with mortgage payments, for the purpose of paying them to the Town on the resident’s behalf.
The Town encourages all residents with mortgages to check with their mortgage lenders to determine the status of their tax payments. If the bank will no longer collect taxes on your behalf, you will need to contact the Town at 709-279-1661 ext. 221 to make arrangements for your taxes to ensure your account does not go into arrears.
The Town can accept payments in person, through online banking or through EMT/EFT. The Town also has a 10-month interest-free equal payment plan that will start again in March 2025.
