Residents of the Burin Peninsula are advised that Mayor Brian Keating has spoken with Trident Construction, the contractor working on the Red Harbour Bridge, and confirmed that rumours about an upcoming 10-hour shutdown of the bridge are just that – rumours. Given the importance of that bridge, there will never be a shutdown of the Red Harbour Bridge lasting anywhere near that long.
If there are shutdowns, they will be for very small intervals and municipalities will be informed so that we may, in turn, inform residents.
Residents can travel off the peninsula without any worries about getting back home as expected.
