New Bailey Bridge

Minister John Abbott (Transportation and Infrastructure), MHA Paul Pike and Mayor Keating unveiled the plan for a temporary Bailey Bridge for Marystown this morning. The Provincial Government has budgeted $25 million for both the Bailey Bridge and a new permanent bridge – approximately $5-$6 million of that budget is for the Bailey Bridge. The Bailey Bridge, which is anticipated to be in place by spring 2025, will be a single lane bridge with a traffic light at each end and there will be a separate pedestrian walkway.

Construction on a new permanent bridge is now scheduled to start in the spring of 2025 and finish around the fall of 2027.

The Town of Marystown thanks Minister Abbott, MHA Pike and all other government officials and engineers for their commitment on connecting the north and south sides again.
