NL Health Services are honoured to share that a Wind Phone has been thoughtfully installed on the Walk of Hope Trail in Marystown — a location whose name beautifully reflects the spirit of this project.
This meaningful initiative was led by Councillor Keith Keating with the Town of Marystown, in partnership with Denika Ward, Mental Health Promotion Coordinator with NL Health Services. The Wind Phone offers a symbolic space to speak to loved ones who have passed on — allowing the wind to carry your words of love, loss, memory, or hope. Whether you’re expressing grief, sharing a treasured story, or simply longing to feel close again, the Wind Phone invites you to do so with openness and heart.
Special thanks to the Town of Marystown for spearheading this project, and to Mr. Brian Cheeke and Mr. Joe Brake for their craftsmanship in building the Wind Phone booth — a remarkable structure that will serve the community for years to come.
An official launch will be held at a later date, but in the meantime, we welcome you to visit the Wind Phone, reflect, and connect.
Please feel free to share this post to help spread the word.
