Earlier today, Council received some great news from the Department of Transportation & Infrastructure and Trident Construction Ltd. that the Town would like to pass on to the public.
Work is scheduled to start at the site of the bailey bridge the first week in December. Farrell’s Excavating has indicated that once another project they are working on is complete, the company will start work on this project. With the unseasonably wet November we have been experiencing, there have been delays.
In the meantime, shop drawings and launch plans are being prepared, material is being procured (piles, rebar, bridge, etc.) and material for the subgrade is being sorted in the quarry.
It is important to note that the completion date for the project has not changed.
The Town would like to thank Minister Fred Hutton, the Department of Transportation & Infrastructure and MHA Jeff Dwyer for the update. The Town would also like to thank Council for their continued follow-up on this project on behalf of all concerned residents.
The Town Council remains committed to bringing updates to the residents.
