Memorial Day Ceremony

Service to take place at the Burin Cenotaph (in front of the Burin Town Council Building). Service to take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1st, with parade starting at 10:30 a.m.

Lest We Forget, We Will Remember Them

Groups are requested to form up at Burin Cinema by 10:30 a.m. to ready parade to the Burin Cenotaph. Community members not wishing to parade from the Cinema are requested to arrive at the Burin Cenotaph by 10:45 a.m.

Each Memorial Day we honour the sacrifices of our Newfoundland Regiment at Beaumont Hamel on July 1st, 1916, and all Newfoundlanders and Labradorians who have served and sacrificed in times of war.

In the morning, we remember ours.

In the afternoon, we celebrate Canada.

After the Ceremony St. Gabriel’s Hall will be hosting a free lunch (soup & sandwiches) at the Hall for everyone wishing to attend.
