Tax Arrears and Water Shut-off Notices

he Town of Marystown will be issuing water shut-off notices to residents whose tax accounts are in arrears as of June 30th (the deadline for payment was March 31st). If you are unsure if your account is up-to-date, please contact the Town Office at 709-279-1661, ext. 221, Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. not only to inquire into your balance and possibly avoid further action, but to update your account with your contact information for future reference.

‼️ THIS NOTICE IS NOT APPLICABLE TO RESIDENTS WHO ARE ON PAYMENT PLANS AND MAKING REGULAR PAYMENTS! ‼️

Please note that making a single payment without speaking to someone in the Finance Department will only delay the water shut-off if there is still an outstanding balance and no further regular payments are received.

If you are issued a water shut-off notice and your water is ultimately shut off for tax arrears, you will need to pay a $50.00 water connection fee to turn it back on. Once that fee has been paid, you will need to sign up for a payment plan and make a payment.

The Town would like to thank those residents who have their accounts up-to-date as these funds allow the Town to upgrade infrastructure and provide services and programs to residents.

If you have friends or relatives who are not connected to social media or the Town’s website, please advise them of this notice so they may possibly avoid a water shut-off.
