On Street Parking Notice – Leave Room for Emergency Vehicles

Residents are advised to please utilize off-street parking options first to keep our community safe and accessible for emergency vehicles, especially in the Atlantic Crescent, Smallwood Crescent and Reddy Subdivision (Mount Vincent Crescent) areas.

When cars line both sides of the street, it creates dangerous bottlenecks. This congestion makes it incredibly difficult – and sometimes impossible – for the Marystown Volunteer Fire Departments and heavy equipment operators to pass through. During an emergency, every single second counts and a delay caused by blocked streets can have devastating consequences.

To ensure our first responders can reach you and your neighbors without delay, please follow these parking guidelines:

• Use off-street parking first: If you have a driveway, garage or designated off-street parking space/lot, you must park there before using the street

• Park close to the curb: If off-street parking is not available and you must park on the street, pull in as close to the curb as possible to leave maximum clearance for passing vehicles

• Keep hydrants clear: Never park in front of a fire hydrant. Firefighters need immediate, unobstructed access to water sources in an emergency.

Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our neighborhood safe, clear and accessible for everyone!
