This is a full-time permanent unionized position which reports directly to the Director of Finance and Administration.
Under the supervision of the Directors, the Clerk II is responsible for providing administrative support to the Departments of Finance, Planning & Economic Development, Public Works, and Recreation. The Clerk II will provide support services for each Department in a number of areas including, but not limited to, accounts payables/receivables, cash handling, collections, capital accounts, payroll, taxation, assessments, poll tax, permitting, purchase/clean-up/stop work orders, event coordination, funding program research, documentation, letter writing, and other duties as required. The Clerk II will also assist the public with information pertaining to tax accounts as well as receive and receipt payments.
Candidates must have completed a university degree or two-year diploma in the area of business administration or accounting, or equivalent. A minimum of five years of experience working in accounts payable, accounts receivable, or another relevant area is required. Experience, knowledge, and training in a municipal or other professional environment would be an asset. Candidates must have functional knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office and accounting software, and be able to utilize such technology in the day-to-day operations of the position.
Salary and benefits will be as per CUPE Local 1896 Union Agreement.
