The flags at the Town Hall Grounds have been lowered to half mast as we remember four Canadian Armed Forces members, Sgt. Morgan Wong of Edmonton, Alberta; Pvt. Shaun Farrell of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan; Pvt. Aidan Goulding of North Vancouver, British Columbia; and Pvt. Hayden Lykkemark of Langley, British Columbia, who lost their lives in a fatal fire during a military training exercise at Canadian Forces Base Wainwright in Alberta on Saturday, October 17, 2026.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of all those involved in the tragedy.
