Business Permit To Operate

All businesses operating within the Town of Marystown’s planning area (including Beau Bois, Spanish Room, Jean de Baie and Rock Harbour) are required to have a permit to operate, including all home-based and internet-based (ie., Facebook) businesses. Please refer to the Resources section of the Town’s website for a copy of the Town’s Development Regulations and Municipal Plan as well as the Town’s Tax Structure as it relates to permit fees.

By making application to the Town to operate a business, it ensures that the business is in compliance with zoning bylaws for a specific location and ensures that other regulations (public health and safety, etc.) are addressed. It also ensures a fair environment for all members of the business community.

Failure to obtain the proper permits will result in the issuance of a Stop Work Order. Anyone wishing to advise the Town of a business that is operating without a proper permit may do so anonymously by calling Alje Mitchell, CAO, at 279-1661 ext. 227, or emailing [email protected].
