The Town of Marystown has received some concerns regarding the 2025 Municipal Taxes Invoices.
The Town of Marystown would like to advise that the mil rate for residential property tax has remained the same for the 2025 taxation year at a rate of 7 mils. Any increases seen in the property tax invoices are a result of a revised assessment value of the property which is received from the Municipal Assessment Agency. Some residents have noted an increase in their property taxes due to an increase in the property value while others have seen a decrease.
When residents receive the assessment values of their properties, the Municipal Assessment Agency allowed 60 days from the date of the Notice of Assessment to allow residents to appeal their assessment values. Please note that an appeal will not guarantee a decrease or no change in their property value and may result in an increase in the property value depending on the evaluation of the property.
